It was a good day today. We are learning to take better notes in science and social studies. The whole class played a fun game called "I have... Who has?" to practice and review our number rounding skills. We are working really hard in Daily 3 "Read to Self" We are up to 19 minutes of solid reading in class. By the end of next week we will be reading 30 minutes a day every day in school. I hope you all have a wonderful evening. I will see you tomorrow!!!

Today was a fun day. I really enjoy watching the students get excited about things we are doing. My favorite part of the day was writing in our Writing Notebooks. We worked on ideas for writing. I was excited to see the students write down things that they love and want to tell me about it. Another thing that really excited me was talking about volunteering. In Social Studies we read about how volunteering helps people in a community get the things they need to live. I encouraged the kiddos to think of things that we could do as a class to volunteer. I was excited about their ideas. I hope to put a few of those ideas into action this year. I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday evening!

I hope you all had a great weekend! Let's get excited for a wonderful week. We will beginning lessons in all subjects. I am excited about introducing the components of Daily 3 as well as digging into our math, science, and social studies books. Parents, if you need to ask any questions please refer to the ABC's of Mrs. Leitz class in the packet that was sent home in your student's Monday folder. 

We had another great day today! Monday is when the fun really begins. Come to class on Monday well rested and with your thinking caps on!

Welcome to 3rd and 4th Grade!

Dear students and parents,
Welcome to a new year at Felt Public School! I am so excited to be a part of the team and I just know we are going to have an awesome year!
I plan to use this blog every day in class. I will post a class schedule as well as all assignments for the day on the blog. The students will be using the blog to fill out their agendas everyday! Another wonderful thing about the class blog is if a student is ever absent or a parent is curious to see what we are up to every day you can check the blog to see what was missed.
I also plan to use this blog like a class newsletter. The first few posts will be written by me. But as we become more comfortable with our class environment I will ask a small group of students to post on the blog from their point of view. I am hoping to put pictures of students in action and student work on the blog as well. Parents can get involved as well by commenting on students posts and waiting for them to respond.
I believe in using technology in class and in my personal life! I feel like this blog will allow students in my class to experience what blogging is like and how it feels to publish writing for anyone to see!
